So here's the thing ..... I couldn't imagine my life now without paddling. Sharing this brilliant sport and the lifestyle that goes with it, Guiding and Instructing others is so rewarding and inspiring that it keeps me passionate about discovering where it can be taken in the future.
It started for me as a way to experience the outdoors and explore places on an intimate, peaceful and personal level, giving me a totally new perspective. Travelling under your own power, island hoping and discovering the intricacy of a coastline via kayak for me is the most exciting and fun way to see the planet and engage with the wildlife, people and places that are part of our ocean environment. Slowing life's pace and really living "in the moment" is what time on the water means to me.
I have paddled and Guided Sea Kayak Trips in some absolutely stunning locations, the Whitsunday Islands, Western Australia, Tasmania, the Solomon Islands, Croatia, Italy, Greece, Germany, Greenland and Canada but there is no place like home here in beautiful Jervis Bay and the unique variety that the South Coast of NSW has to offer.
Sea kayaking (and Youtube ;-) also lead me to the dynamic sport of Surf Kayaking. Inspired by the World's best male and female surfkayakers, I trained hard here at home to compete for Australia at the Surf Kayak World Championships in Spain, Portugal and at home here in OZ in 2013 where I won the Gold Medal in the Women's High Performance Class and achieved a Bronze Medal as part of the Australian Team event.
This is certainly not something I envisioned when I first picked up a paddle but I have met so many wonderful people along my paddling journey and you just never know where the ride is going to take you next ... The options are endless when it comes to creating your own tracks on the water.
